Default Finally lowered the car (S-Techs with lip kit) :: Pics

Alright, so I had the dang things for a few months but had no means to put 'em on up at college, but Christmas break finally rolled around and I got to put 'em on. Wasn't too bad really, considering the hype. Clearing out the trunk was time consuming but not bad. Using the method of compressing the rear springs against the car using a jack made life oh so much easier. All in all, took a few hours over two days, not bad (especially not considering the fiasco I had installing my header... we won't go there).

Only thing not done is the bottom mount bolts in the front. They have to be torqued to 177 ft.lbs. and our torque wrench only goes to 150. So while I do want one of those 250 max wrenches, I'm just going to tell the alignment place when they do it soon to torque those four bolts for me. No biggy. Oh, and about those... they must be factory torqued to like 210. We could not break them with a .5" wrench and a 1.5 foot breaker bar. On the cramped side of the car I stood on my friends shoulders and he pulled with all his might and we broke 'em loose (though he was down wrenching after that ). The other side was much easier. We used the 7.5 foot intimidator bar left over from the breaker bars we bought and broke 'em real easy like. Great fun.

Anyway, enough talk. Crappy cell phone pics. I'll get better ones, soon. Oh, and for those of you comteplating these springs and you have the lip kit, you've found some pics (I know I searched for a long time before finally finding some... this'll make other's lives easier).

Got one last batch of mods coming in next week (Megan SS, NST bushings, and some more Oznium lights) and once they're on I'll put it up there. It'll be awhile before I do anything else.... though I would love to get the Ingalls 4-point brace and some sways...

I hadn't decided on a sway yet... I'd been looking pretty hard at the Progress one but it seems like there're more parts to it than a normal sway bar... no biggy though, 'cause I'm doing that when I swap out the OE-RS axleback for a Precision Muffler one (header rasp... no sir, I don't like it).

The only part I found difficult, other than just how long it takes, is breaking those 4 bottom strut mounts in the front. They're supposed to be torqued to 177 ft.lbs. but I swear they come factory at like... 250 Better get yourself a BIG breaker bar
