Hello, I’ve been searching for some help with replacing driver side lower control arm with an auto transmission. The horizontal bolt hits the transmission oil pan. I’ve seen advice to jack up the motor and to place a block under the pan and jack the pan up and I’ve tried both but the bolt still hits the pan. I need like another 1/2” of clearance and I’m golden. Any ideas??
I know it may not be time for a transmission fluid replacement but it looks like of you took the pan off it may allow the room to remove the bolt. Or you could lower that side of the subframe.
Did you separate or remove the cross member sub assembly? The engine needs to be suspended from above or supported from below (but it doesn't necessarily need to be raised.)
Installation: Toyota recommends attaching the control arm to the cross member first, then attach the control arm to the ball joint.
