Default Good place to get rotors cut.

Hey guys I'm looking to do my brakes soon and plan on need to get my rotors cut. Does anyone know which parts stores have the best brakes lathes? I know it really boils down to the person cuttin gthe disk, I just want to go to a place that has a good machine. Then again IDK much about lathes lol, maybe they are all the same? some one fill me in on gettin gmy rotors cut!

Although it doesn't answer your question, i'd look into how much its going to cost vs the cost of getting new rotors. You can get nice brembo rotors for real cheap...just something to think about

bump for an answer to your question

Turning rotors(resurfacing, refinished, whatever) can prove expensive. In some cases it is more cost effective to just buy new rotors. And then you can upgrade with drilled/slotted or just a better brand of pad/rotor combo

pep boys and kragen do it for farley cheap.. most places will tell you there lathes arent working though.. if you slotted or drilled rotors on the other hand, good luck finding someone that will do that.. the groves break needle (cutter, the thing that does the cutting)

I use to do it when I worked at Napa. I forget how much they charge now. But your going to need to bring in your rotors so they can mic them. If they can cut them they would cut them at three one-thousandths at a time. At least thats what I use to do. After that use a mild detergent to make sure they are free of any dust or metal shavings. Get some new pads are your all set.
