H&R Coilover review
#142
I have had H&R coilovers for about 9 months and have loved them. The car feels like it's glued to the road and the drop looks great with the 18inch Tenzo Type M rims. My only issue, which I have had two shops check, has been the knocking sound coming from the front when I turn the wheel. After reading on here that others have seemingly had the same issue looks like I will take it on once more. That is after I get my car back from getting the engine replaced (Story in itself). Word of advice, if the shop looks shady, seems shady, and is seemingly covered in shade, it probably is shady.
I have a similar noise but I can't seem to find anything wrong.

^^I heard theres usually noise with aftermarket coilovers. I'm stuck between these and Progress/TRD. I don't want a harsh ride cuz there's alot of potholes where I live. Just want to drop about 1.4" or so, nothing big. Anyone know how H&R ride compared to Progress/TRD? Still can't find the spring rate.

I bought the H & R Coilovers a month ago, and have really liked them. The ride really is as smooth as everyone says, and the grip is excellent. My only complaint is the noise these things make, particularly the front. When I hit sudden bumps (smaller ones, to cause a quick hit to my suspension), I notice a metallic clanking sound, and it's loudest on the passenger side. The rears are silent, and I have taken the car to several shops (5, to be exact), and everyone says that they look fine and that everything checks out. DocIso installed for me, too. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
Theories Tested (and tried):
1. Tighten top-hat bolt
2. Check endlinks and swaybars, and tighten
3. Installed rubber washer in between top hat and upper spring (fixed sound, only to cause the spring to not sit properly)
4. Alignment (which ironically reduced sound for 3 days)
5. Reinstall (removed and reinstalled)
