Default H&R SAWEEEEET!

so i've had the coilovers in for a few weeks now and they are awesome, and i just installed the rear sway today BIGGGGG difference (thanks for the endlinks 2fast!!)!

feels so much better driving like this then stock!

im gonna try to get some free lift time tomorrow after class to do some minor tweaking on one of the coilovers (pops on bumps and i was told the top mount wasnt seated properly so gonna try to fix that) and i gotta check to make sure all of the bolts on the sway are tight cus im getting some sound from back there too, nothin too bad tho but i want everything to be perfect.

only thing that sucks is my winter tires cant handle the abuse that the suspension can take so i cant really test it with out them breaking loose

but once i sell my feathers (pm me for price ) ill put the BFGs that are on them on my stockers and them put them to the test :D

maybe ill throw the feathers on one more time just for S&G

but yeah if anyone is thinking about the H&R suspension i def give them 2 thumbs up and im sure 2fast will too

any questions fire away if i cant answer them im sure someone will..

but i have a question for anyone that knows anything about coilovers.

on the bottom of the fronts there is a nut.... what is that for? if i can get the car on the lift ill try to take a ____tty camera phone pic but no promises.

ok so i figured out what the problem(s) is/are

1. the front passengers side H&R Spring hat and Bearing seat arent seated properly and my instructor (who has been in the business for over 30 years) said that he thinks they are broken and i should contact H&R because he thinks i got bad ones.

im going to call H&R today to discuss this with them, i hope they can help me out here, i mean after all i do have their complete suspension kit

oh and i took a pic of the nut on the bottom of the front shocks to see if anyone can clue me in as to what its for. ill post the pic of that and the play in the front pass. coilover due to the spring hat and bearing seat not fitting properly (neither of which was an install error)

Wow... the sway bar bushing issue you're having sounds odd, was it drop shipped from H&R, or did it come from a dealer?

In other news: I'll be tackling Buttonwillow this Sunday. W00T!

They probably want to see what they look like installed. The H&R bushings are pretty easy to I.D., they should have a textured feel to them on the inner diameter, if they don't, those aren't H&R bushings. Did you get the coilovers and sway bar from the same place? I'm beginning to wonder if it wasn't an authorized dealer (especially with the price you got the coilovers for) and someone else had their hands on your stuff; it's bizarre that you would have problems with both items. As I asked previously, did these items come directly from H&R? They would have been shipped from Bellingham, Washington.

does teh bushing need grease? i saw that it had teflon tape in it so i assumed it didnt need grease... plus it didnt come with grease

OK, that gives me something to work with. Since you ordered the bar from AllSprings.com, it came directly from H&R. The bushings should have come pre-positioned on the bar, and you should have reused the stock sway bar brackets to install them on your tC; the brackets should fit very snugly around the bushings. The bar should be installed with the H&R logo pointing toward the ground.

Do NOT grease the bushings, it should have come with brightly colored documentation that stated that over and over again. Teflon tape? The only items that should have come with the bar should have been the bar itself, the bushings, and the instruction page.

the bar was installed correctly, although i had to move the bushings on the otherside of the "ring"? on the sway bar because they didnt line up on the bar. other then that the only thing is if i grab the bar i can physically move it up and down and hear the banging sound...

It moves up and down within the bushings? That should have been an obvious issue before installation.
