Hotchkis springs + swaybars installed! [pictures]
About a month ago Sanski bought the Hotchkis suspension kit for her tC. The kit included front and rear anti-swaybars as well as springs all around. First impression: the car is SLAMMED. It rides so much lower now its not even funny.
Before:

After:

Hotchkis says that the springs drop the car about 2” and they weren’t kidding. Anymore and the wheels would be tucked into the wheel wells. Seeing as we still want to drive the car on regular streets (meaning potholes, bumps, etc) this is more than enough.
Front tires:

Rear tires:

After the install the car was a completely different beast. It handles 10 times better, even with the RE92 tires. The swaybars are set to the middle notch on the front and the lowest setting on the back. This reduced most of the understeer and the car is almost completely neutral but can still handle washboard while turning. The stock shocks make the ride a little bit bouncy but not too much more than before. It is just a reminder to upgrade soon.
Well worth the money.

how much of a drop is that? 2"?
about the bra... besides the fact that i hate them, they can also DAMANGE your paint. I havent seen the scion bras in person, but bras can scratch your paint (surface scratches), and indirectly... while the rest of your car is slowy fading in color (becuase of the sun), that area will stay the same rich color as when you bought it.... so when u take the bra off, you have some paint issues. If you keep your car shaded all the time though... i guess ya dont have much to worry about. md .02

Its either a $100 replaceable bra or a new paint job due to the crazy trucks out here. Paint was really taking a beating so it didn't matter what we did to it, it was screwed anyway.
The bra looks great with a little Armorall every now and then and isn't scratching the paint too much.
To the others: the back does sit a little lower than the front. The front springs are twice the size as the rear ones because they have to support the engine and all that stuff so maybe thats why. We recently moved from one town to another and used the tC to haul all of our crap (you can fit a TON of stuff in the back with the seats down, btw). With several boxes full of books and a few TVs the car was sitting pretty damn low but the tires didn't rub at all. I wouldn't have wanted to go offroading with it but it managed very nicely.

Look closly at the first picture. Notice how the ruler changes right down the middle? Notice how the tire rises about 2"? The "before" image is side-by-side the "after" image so you can do a direct comparision. Its one image file with two images (side-by-side) in it.
