Default Hotchkis Stage 1 TVS kit

My kit just arrived. This weekend im planning on having it installed after i get my tint redone and audio system installed. This kit comes with springs and swaybars for those not familiar with the kit. I was wondering , Is there anything else i should have installed at the same time as this kit? Is there anything else i should buy that will help my suspension? I realize aftermarket shocks are something i should get, however, im not prepared to spend 1k+ for shocks and install atm. I figured that if worse case scenerio occured, i could still buy the aftermarket shocks and have them installed and that should fix everything. right?

I just have the swaybar kit and didn't really think of anything else to do to the underside of my car. As for your shocks they are stock but still fairly new. They may wear through faster than normal after the drop from the springs but shounld't be a to much of a concern for awhile. Good luck it took me awhile to do just my sways and it is much easier with a lift.

Yup, my TVS1 kit arrived last week. I got it for $350 shipped from McGeorge! Great stuff, can't wait to install it next weekend.

The front bar is what I had done professionally. If you are mechanically inclined and can get a couple of your buddies together to help it should only take a couple of hours. I was gonna do it with some of my friends, I just didn't have the time to install the front one myself it was just easier to have Toyota do it.(And they only charged me $30!!!!)

No it is not that easy to install, the mechanic at the dealership thought it would only take a half-an-hour so they just quoted me the $30 plus tax. It really took about an hour and a half to install it. I just got lucky!

I have been adjusting them to see were i like them. Right now the rear one is in the the whole closest to the end and the front is on the whole furthest in towards the bar. Right now this is the setting that it has been the longest and I like the feel of it the best. I would reccommend just adjusting them and trying different settings but this setting so far feels the most neutral to me. Another thing to consider is how much"grip" your tires have. I am still running the all seasons that I got with the car. Come spring I will do a wider and more aggressive tire (peirelli p-zero) and end up adjusting the sways again.

We installed them at home. I would not do this without air tools. You have to lower the subframe to get to the mounts. We were putting in a Fidanza flywheel and Tein SS-Ps at the same time so it all worked out pretty nicely, but it took awhile.

If you are not experienced with major chassis work, this isn't the mod to do at home. There are install instructions here that describe the level of effort required to do the front bar. Also, it is very important to check that the bar clears the subframe after the install. If you get it wrong, the bar will hit the subframe and both damage the bar and make LOTS of bad sounds. Again, this is not for the uninitiated.
