My sway bars are starting to squeak and I don't know what kind of grease to use. I don't have the lube that it came with.

 

any kind of grease would work?

 

no, the grease has to meet the specifications mandated by the manufactuers!

theres all sorts of factors like consistancy, viscosity, color, and lubricating effectiveness!

 

I just bought some stuff from autozone. valvoline. no squeaks for a couple years now :]

 

When does it squeak? bumps, turns?

 

Take it to your mechanic if you have one specific one, mine did it for free, no squeeks for months

 

what's nice is th ere are lube injection plugs on the bushings, if you had the gun for it.

 

The grease that comes with the bar are from Energy Suspension and you can buy it at autozone.

Any kind of suspension or chasis lube should do the trick. A grease gun is a life saver here, specially on the front bar. Who wants to remove it just to grease up the bushings?

Any mechanic can do this for you or as part of a major service. Mine was done for free but I had to request it.

 

kendall makes a lube called L-427 Super Blu-Grease. it works wonders for metal on metal, bushings etc.

 

guys, i dont exactly know how to work this out, my frot sway bar need to be lube. when i get bumps the front sway sqeaks, but the grease plugs are looking in a 90 degree angle towards the tC chassis frame, how can i reach for the plugs if the grease gun wont fit in there?... i went to numerous quicklube stations and nobody seems to have the correct tool with out taking the sway out!...
