Default How much brake fluid?

I am about to have my brake pads, lines and fluid changed and was wondering how many bottles of Motul RBF 600 (500 mL or 1.05 pint each) will I need to have it done?

Thanks in advance.

when i flushed mine i used 4 bottles. just did them, you could get by with 3, but 4 was just to make sure it was clean.

My buddy says when he changed his pads, lines and fluid he only needed one bottle. I'm guessing he only replaced the fluid and didn't flush the system?

Also since I'm having the lines replaced, am I flushing to get old oil and dirt out of the master cylinder and any other parts of the brake system?

Thanks for the info.

i'd flush the system, definitely. Why not start out with all new, clean fluid? Your friend definitely just replaced what was bled out of the system not replacing it all.

If you mean just the flexible hoses to stainless steel, then it's not that much that you're replacing. The rest of the lines are steel as it is. So no, there really isn't that much dirt in there, you're basically flushing the system to get new fluid in there. When I did the flush, it was just replacing old fluid. It came out looking amber-gold colored. The new stuff is a slight yellow color. Much cleaner.

Amazing what we get used to as the miles add on. Brakes feel much better now can modulate them more easily.

Hope that helps.. oh and yw.
