Cutting springs is NEVER "done right" Spend the $150 and get some springs!!! They're not even expensive ..... then and only then do you even have the ability to "do it right"

Take it as flaming if you want, but if you plan to push the car AT ALL, this could save your life and others around you.

dont be a fool man you will never get it right cutting your springs. save up and buy a used set if anything for around 60 - 100.

each spring sags differently. so when you put it on a car they might be all cut the same but when they sit it will be uneven.

Have you ever seen how a spring is made, they are spre tensioned to a certain rate when they are made, cutting them or heating them changes that rate, sure it makes you lower, but your ride will be worse, you will handle worse, you will kill your struts sooner, you will end up in about 6 months paying more to fix all the problems caused than a top end set of coilovers cost........You sound dead set on doing this cutting so please go and do it......but when the car is worse off than when started please feel free to spend your hard earned money to fix it.....

heating springs is worse, hot rod guys do it but it makes for horrible handling and a worse ride.

cutting springs is also a terrible idea. cutting corners with cars is never a good idea. the only thing that confuses me is that Chip Foose is cutting spring on Overhaulin all the time. and hes very well respected when it comes to car building, idk i would never even consider it though just save the money and do it right.
