Actually you can cut springs and seat them the right way and you really won't have many issues but it isn't the best option nor the wisest. Honestly from the get-go, your better off with some nice coilovers, some tein ss-ps or jic.

lol i've told some of my friends to check out this site, and the first thing i tell them is: Don't ask "who would win..." (or any street racing topic) and don't ask about cutting the springs. guaranteed flaming time.

but yeah, don't.

I've seen it done many, many times and have actually done it myself in the past. Never had any problems besides super rough ride and struts won't last long... But I would NEVER recommend anyone do it.

Also heating the springs is worse because by heating and cooling the springs (which are cold steel wound), you change the molecular structure of the metal, and it makes them brittle...
