Default Inner Tie Rods replacement procedure

The service manual is saying that the entire steering rack has to come out of the car to replace the inner tie rods... Is this true?!?

Or..

can the inner tie rods be removed and new ones installed without taking the steering rack off the car?

did a search couldn't find anything...

I think the only reason why you would remove the rack is because of tight space. Can you get at the inner tie rod with an inner tie rod tool?

havent personally worked on the inner tierod of the tc, but most of the ones ive worked on, you should be able to remove the inner tierod without removing the whole rack

thanks for all the replies, dont have to fix it, just thinking that whenever i do have to. I didn't think the rack had to be removed just for the inner tie rod. Thanks for confirming that isnt the case!
