13.5 mm . i spent a lot of time getting the plunger set to the exact size and tightenng properly...i think.
but i still dont like the engine noise transferred to the cabin...i am going to work on that today.

The stiffy varies from one to another I had a unit on my car that was silent for over a year...then I put on a new one and the noise was horrible. I went through about ten till I found a "good" one. I am not saying the stiffy isnt a good product but it could be a lot better for little cost increase on Ingalls part.

yea, it looks like your right. Ah well, after mine has broken in a bit, the noise has basically stopped (other than the cold/frozen issue). Other than that, its pretty nice and I like the performance gains. I dunno, I wouldve paid another $30 or so to eliminate these problems. Ingalls should maybe reevaluate their goals.

i get that too... once you let off the gas when the car is cold its like a pop, but when it warms up, all is gone....

I understand the issues many of you describe experiencing and hope that we can resolve them with future revisions. Ingalls has always strived to bring quality products to the market. In doing so, we often go through numerous revisions that require countless hours of testing. We are working on various methods to reduce the vibration issues brought up in this thread by a few of you. As we see it, there are no easy fixes at present, but if there were I can assure you that we would implement them. We have already made revisions from the original damper design to improve the end product. The clicking issues people have mentioned here can be attributed to either improper adjustment or cold weather contracting the rubber and therefore losing any preload.
We are addressing the issue of damper vibration and hope to find methods that can reduce or eliminate this problem, for those that dislike it, without negatively impacting other functions or drivability. We are more than open to suggestions, just as we have been in the past. I hope as issues arise that you feel more than welcome to contact us and inform us of them (my email address is DanJ@IngallsEng.com). Again, we are glad that many of you chose to buy our product and hope that you continue to do so.
Dan

i love having the damper on my car. the only bad thing is how it pops when it's cold but as long as it isn't hurting anything and it's just a meaningless sound then no big deal. the benefits from having the damper far exceed the little extra noise it adds sometimes.

The strut tower bar from DC goes on top of the bracket for the ETD. Using a very thin layer of Dynamat or none at all the hardware will still be long enough for proper attachement of both parts. Should work out just fine. I don't see any angle or pitch to either the damper mounting bracket or the DC bar.
Were you trying to mount the ETD bracket above the DC STB?

i have 3 or 4 layers of dynamat under there. i can't remember if it's 3 or 4, but probably 3. it fit very nicely, as you can see there is still plenty of thread left on the strut bolts.

here is pic again so you don't have to go back to the page i posted it on earlier......

hmmm i just took a look at it again and i notice that the top plate bracket is bended upwards so thats what that angle is. is there any other strut bar that you know of that will fit for sure?

what are you talking about being angled? the damper mount on the strut tower sorta bent for some reason but other than that no angle. and that had been bent like that since i installed the damper way before i put the strut bar on. not sure why it bent like that.

so the dc-sport one fits perfectly fine.
