I haven't seen a definitive answer on how many miles/months TRD or Koni struts/shocks last on the Scion tC. So for those of you that have an aftermarket spring and aftermarket strut/shock setup how many miles/months have you driven? Do you have any problems? Do aftermarket struts/shocks have more longevity than stock ones?

 

i have the trd shocks and struts and the front struts went out after 35000 miles.

 

On one can give you a definitive answer becasue there is no definitive answer. Strut life depends on what kind of drop you have an how you drive. If you're an easy drive they can last over 60K mile. If you're a really hard driver and drive autoX alot then they could go out in 10K miles. That's not likely to happen though.

 

one of mine went out sometime before 12K, not sure when but noticed it when i was changing my shocks

got the car used at 6K miles with low aftermarket spring, so dont know what kind of driving the previous owner did, but i do not do any autoX or drive it too hard, just enthusiastic lane changes and such

but it is extremely odd that one went sometime before 12K miles even with the s-techs so if anyone can explain why so soon pleas give some input

 

it depends on how u drive it dude.....if u drive it rough everyday corner hard...then it will wear quicker..mine is Tein Stech...and TRD shocks...i'm 60k still running good.
