So just joined up here and have used the ____ out of the search function already, and have decided on Tenabe DF210 lowering springs for my '08 tC..but it has also been brought to my attention that I will need a camber kit, which is no biggie, there are some for $30 that I have found on this site.

But the big thing is the struts. As my car sits right now it has 57,000 miles on it (bought it march of last year with 33,000 on it), and was wondering if I could get by with not swapping them out immediatley, or if I should do it.

if u decide to swap ur struts, i have some oem ones for sale. only 20k on em.

Don't swap mildly used struts for more stock ones if you're going lower.

If you do want to get new struts, go with something like TRD or Tokico. It would be easy to swap both struts and springs out at the same time. You can get away with running what you have for now, only time would really be able to tell if your struts will last much longer.

i say go tokico. U can buy those individually unlike the TRDs. This summer I blew my passenger front, if I had gone TRD it woulda been a whole new set. Instead I just bought that one strut and I was good to go.

What exactly goes bad on the struts when they fail\what symptoms are there?

Might be switching my idea and getting TRD springs, reading up more last night, seems like optimal drop for the tc is around 1.4"..

That is just personal preference. I honestly think a car that is slammed looks worse. Looks like nothing was designed together as a whole and just looks cheap IMO.

At 57,000 miles I would go ahead and replace the struts now.

You dont need a camber kit for a TRD drop. Ran one for years and never needed any other parts. But.... you can get some camber bolts for the front, dial in about -1.5 degrees of camber up there and use the stock adjusters to dial in about -1.0 degrees in the rear and it will turn in and handle much better than stock ;) and with those settings and regular tire rotation you should not have any bad tire wear issues. Just make sure that those settings are done as part of the alignment so toe is corrected along with the camber adjustment.
