Default NEW to this forum, and i have some questions HELP

OKAY

i have a 2008 Scion tC. I am looking for several things to do on my vehicle, and i need some help. I have asked several people that are into the import scene and they all said for me to join a forum, and just keep reading new things. So thats what i am doing. I need some advise here. Please email me ya'lls advise. GriffinDentalNATE@yahoo.com

1.) I am looking for a muffler/exhaust system that would sound realy good. my perfered tone i would rather not have a high pitched bumble bee sound, i want a low somewhat muscular sound.

2.) How low is too low for the scion tc's? i want to put a spring kit on my car, and am curious as to what would be the best brand, and amount of drop for a street sport scion.

3.) what can i do to override my top speed limiter. i havent been able to find any plug in power programers for the scion, like what they have available for several other vehicles.

if anyone can please help answer my questions i would GREATLY appreciate it.

just please email me with your advise. GriffinDentalNATE@yahoo.com

thank you

1) you're not really gonna get the low muscular sound out of a 4 cylinder...but there are ways to avoid the rasp you don't want...

2) too low is a matter of opinion...are you going to be autocrossing and looking for performance or just looks?

3) i don't know

welcome to the site. all of your answers can be found by searching and looking around. there are tons of info out there, you just have to do the work and research.

as far as your questions go
1. i have trd on mine and i like it, nice and mellow - not a fart can

2. take a look in this section and you will find info on how much drop and how each feels. i think there are some pic threads too. i have hotchkis and i love them

3. auto or stick? with stick the max is 127 before the limiter kicks in. if there was an override, you will only gain about 7-8, if that, more mph as the tranny is already maxed out.

many users on here dont like answering every question that comes around since many of them get asked all the time. a quick search goes a long way.

Preface:
You're going to get 19234838745 different responses, most of the time people are going to say the product they have. Best bet for exhausts is look them up on Youtube to hear the sounds they give off. Pay attention to the details because having a CAI/SRI may tweak the sound. Also, for the springs, look at pictures of each kind.

1. The best sounding exhaust I have seen is the Tanabe Medalion Concept G. Nice deep sound, especially when paired with the Injen CAI, which I already have.

2. Depending on what look you're going for, there are different springs to suit you. I personally like the evened out look of Hotchkis springs. I believe its a 1.9in drop in the back and 1.7 in the front. I'm sure you've noticed that the stock stance has a higher back end so this levels it out and has a nice overall drop.

3. I have no idea.

Good luck and happy modding.[/u][/i]

Great exhaust is the GReddy ........suspension you need to lower a bit and stiffen sway a bit......coilovers and Hotchkis sways are probably the best but not needed unless going to track.

Top speed......it can be done, but unless your bank account is up there in the big numbers why bother.

Yup, unless you go turbo or add a serious power enhancer (i/h/e don't count) the Tc is no power house. The speed limiter should be fine since its mostly limited by its short gearing.

Think hard about the kind of direction you want to go with your car, as I said, without forced induction the Tc is not fast at all and unless you spend allot of money on cams, expensive headers and a tune you won't be faster than Type-S's, or Si's anytime soon. I realized this soon so I spend my "upgrades" on suspension, sways, making the car feel tighter by doing polyurethane motor mounts, Dr. Isotopes Lazy boy shifter, better brakes. and such. I know my car will never be fast, but by any means its a blast to drive.
