Default Nice surprise... TRD springs already installed

So, I was installing my new TRD exhaust today, and while laying under the car I noticed that my springs were white. Then I saw a little TRD sign on them. I bought my car used with a few thousand miles on it (got it for a sweet deal, but that's a different story). I thought it was all stock but it looks like the previous owner had the TRD lowering springs installed.
I always thought my car sits somewhat low, now I know why. Here's a pic of it (top/left) compared to a stock TC (bottom/right).
I didn't have any pictures of the stock TC, so I used the car of AZURE_PEARL_TC, another member on scionlife. AZURE_PEARL_TC has a great write up on the TRD springs at

i have those springs also - great mod that does the car justice. a big gap makes a nice car look bad. If i didnt change my springs I would have put bigger rims on but since i did change them ... im going to keep my stock rims since they are covered under the 100k warranty (and i already bashed one via a pothole a few months ago). Remember - 18inch rims will not fill this hole since 17 and 18s will look the same. You have to jump to 19's to actually fill it since the rim is bigger instead of just the rubber

so your saying the only difference between 18" and 17" wheels are the tires??

A little off topic, but can you guys tell me if the TRD symbol is a sticker? or is it printed on the actual coil? thanks.

I belive so - dont quote me ....but thats what I think is factual. The guy that I was talking to at the dealer turned out to be a liar about many things so one more lie wouldnt suprise me.

From what I just read, you've been told wrong. Bigger rims will NOT fill the gap between your wheels/fenders. It'll just raise your car higher! I use to think that back in the day. You need springs/coilovers if you want to minimize the gap.
