i'm not sure if i'm gonna be able to explain this right, but here goes...

i recently installed Tein SS-P coilovers w/ EDFC on my car last weekend. since then, everytime i switch gears, it makes somewhat of a "chug chug" noise...can't describe the sound any better.

it happens every gear. the moment the clutch disengages and i give it gas, it makes the noise. my friend and i checked everything since install and can't find anything wrong. we're gonna take another look later this week, but my friend thinks it's either the engine or something loose after install.

if any of you are familiar w/ engine torquing (pull e-brake, put into 1st and quickly disengage and re-engage clutch before it stalls), it sounds similar to that.

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

i get mine in tomorrow. I'll check for the same noise.

BTW, was the install DIY or did you have a professional install it?

 

did it w/ my mechanic friend who's done these type of installs before on many cars.

installation wise, it wasn't anything difficult. everything was pretty straightforward. we referenced the DIY guide from ProStreetOnline just to make sure everything was going OK.

 

Check the endlinks and stock sway bar. Also double check all the bolts make sure there tight... And make sure the springs are seated properly at the top

 

Defintely worth checking into. I just receved my Tein SSP w/ EDFC 2 days ago.
I have to wait for my car to come out of the body shop first before I can install my
coilovers and new 18" wheels. Once I get mine installed, I check into that too.

 

I don't have a chug chug noise, but I do have some sort of noise....like a steady ticking, but I'm pretty sure it's from the Header.....

 

I installed mine awhile back no problems...

 

eh, it couldn't be the header. There is definately something going on.....but it only happens when the wheels are spinning..........

Did you upgrade your brakes or rotors?

 

no, one of the next things that i'll probably end up upgrading

 

been awhile since i've been here.

anyway, i still have the same "problem" if u wanna call it that. checked all the bolts and they seem fine.
i'm gonna try to get a sound clip of the noise. i can't think of anyway to describe the sound...to some it might sound like a "click click".

but whatever...like i said before, it only makes the noise whenever i shift.
maybe i'm going crazy...

 

anybody ever find a solution to the sound made when shifting? im also hearing the sound
