Question on TRD Lowering Springs.
I was looking to lower my car a bit (The gap I have right now is driving me CRAZY). I have no need for coilovers, as I don't really have the need to adjust the ride height at all, and I don't race professionally, so I think a good set of springs will work find and cost 1/10th as much.
So I was looking into the TRD's, but I found it kind of odd that they only drop .5" in the front and 1.5" in the back. Why is that? Doesn't that make the stance of the car look a bit funny?
Anyone around here use those? Do you recommend using them? Do you have some close ups of how they look on both the front and back? (Google Image Search just got me a bunch of zoomed out results which weren't much help).
If not, is there another set of springs you can recommend?

I have TRD's, and when they settled, they looked real good. They settle a little bit more than what they say. And I can get pics if you would like? The only thing I don't like, I have 2 fingers wheel gap on driver side and 4 fingers on passenger side...hahaha
I am also in the same situation as Wavechaser, so would yall recommend the TRD? I want my car low but Tein S-techs just seem like they get really low.. Ive been thinking about getting H-techs though.

Not sure if the shadow portion of your pic is making the exact standing ride height a bit "deceptive" to my tired-a$$ eyes, lol. But that does initially appear to sit lower than most tC's I've personally seen w/TRD lowering springs. I have my baby lowered sitting on Hotchkis springs over the stock shocks/struts and after the break-in period my final settled standing height is a 1 finger-width gap in front from top of tire to edge of the fender, and a 1.5 finger-width gap in the rear. (not saying the other poster in this thread stating uneven settling did anything wrong) I paid very close attention during the break-in/settling period of my Hotchkis springs and mine settled dead-on even.
In my own experience I've seen other cars (not mine) especially with lowering/performance springs settle uneven like another post in here stated. I'm generally the only person in my tC when driving but during the break-in period on mine, I intentionally tried to have someone in the front passenger seat with me as much as possible b/c it gave fairly equal weight on both sides of the car while driving. IMHO I think it played a pretty good part in my springs settling dead even. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Hotchkis springs are one of the lowest drops you can do w/o actually tucking which is important if you drive it on regular roads, unless you dont give a crap about damaging parts like your tires, fenders/fenderwells, etc.
since we're talking about suspension here... I've got a "mostly" on topic question to toss into the mix here...
Does anyone either have installed or have first hand knowedge of how much of a difference it makes to have a rear tower brace? (on a tC).
I already have Hotchkis front and rear sways & front tower brace. Just curious if adding that last piece w/all the rest I have installed is worth forking over the cash to add that final piece.

i also have the TRD struts on my car too with the trd lowering springs, and they're a little shorter than the OEM one. also, my rims are 17's, but my tires are actually higher profile (boring story, basically i got a great deal on them) so it is not quite the same as all other tC's.
if you look closely, you can just about see the slight difference in shades between tires and the shadow of the car. i'll see if i can find more pictures.

TRD's seem to give the ideal ride height for handling and comfort. Anything more is for those who don't really care about that stuff and want to put their car on smash-mode.
The pics in this thread actually look a lot lower than I thought the springs looked. Are you guys carrying a bunch of extra weight in the car like stereo equipment?

Hmm I might have to go with TRD then... I love the slammed look but I feel it wont be practical with me because I would end up hitting and scraping everything lol. Regardless I need some sort of drop, im tired of my tC sitting like a truck haha.
