Default Re: Alignment

I had my tC lowered about 3 weeks ago and I am needing to get it aligned. I dropped my tC with TRD Springs. I am just wondering should i take it to toyota or an aftermarket shop?
Also do i need to tell them anything special as far as specs? Or just tell them i need an alignment and let them do their thing?

toyota will typically charge you more than a wheel shop would.

I am dropped on trd springs and it was done by toyota, but when I needed an alignment they told me they couldnt do it cause there lifts were the wrong kind of lifts for being able to align my lowered car. I had to go to another shop and good thing I did cause it was a load cheaper.

Well i went to toyota today, and the guy said it's $69.96 but unfortunantly my rim wont fit the machine they have....WTF!! so they can't do it. He also told me that I dont have to align the car after lowering it with TRD Lowering Springs because the drop isnt that much.

Is this true?

any after market lowering springs that you add will def. off set your camber. it's either $60-70 for an alignment or $700-900 for new tires you decide. I went with the alignment

Ok well the cheapest place i found was $59.95 and i told him my car was lowered and i have aftermarket rims, he said that's fine bring it in.

Hopefully this place is good then because every other shop i went to or called wants $119+

How long can I go without getting it aligned? I had the car lowered on August 30th. and still no alignment yet.

I had an alignment done on my tc after i put in the trd springs. The guy at the shop gave me a printout of all the alignment specs and it turned out that both the front and rear were off (rear more than front).
I definitely recommend doing it!!!

I made an appointment for tomorrow at this shop. I told him about my rims because the rims i have dont have a lip. The area where the lip should be is flush with the tire and apparantly the machine toyota uses grabs onto the lip, so we will see what happens.

I explained this to him and he said they have never had a problem with aftermarket rims before. So we'll see.
