install some ground controls, but apparently the GC sleeve doesn't quite fit over the gold piece holding the shock into the strut housing. It appears like the GC adjustable sleeves are supposed to sit at the bottom of the strut housing... and have the gold piece hold it in place.

alright, sorry... I found out what needs to be done.

I basically plan on going with ground controls and koni yellows. I just found out that in order to put the konis on the front suspension, I have to cut that gold piece... i guess when I do that I should beable to slide the GC sleeve all the way down to the spring perch.

Thanks, sorry for the confusion, I thought there may have been a way just to remove the gold piece, but I guess I have to take a dremel to it!

When i installed mine, you have to remove that cap so the sleeve will fit over it. The cap is a larger diameter than the sleeve. I used a flat screwdriver and a hammer to tap the cap off the end. Don't worry about damaging it too much. Just use the hammer to get it back on and tap it back into shape. Put the cap back on after you put the sleeve on of course.
