Alignment is always key after you lower your car for prolong tire life
Look, just get some Tein coilover Basics. They serve the purpose that u r looking for. Sure they cost around $800 but u will not be disappointed and you wont have to worry about switching ur shocks and struts because when u get the coilovers, everything is there. You see, with springs, it justs drops the car and thats it. If you wanna raise the car again for whatever reason, you have to put ur stock springs back on and who wants that? Too much work I say. But if you have these tein basics, if you want to raise it, just get under the car(with it jacked up, of course) and do some adjusting and thats it. Plus, I really like the look of the neon green. Go Tein! BTW, they are not paying me for this but I do believe that they should......
I am considering lowering my tC, but it only gets the car closer to crap in the road. Also, it snows where I live, and although the roads here are well-maintained, snow drifts and packed snow are still an issue. Anybody with dropped tC's live in the snow belt AND drive their tC's?
I live in WA as well, but live in Bellevue and with the Tanabe DF210 drop (~2 in the rear, 1.7 in the front) it looks great, the ride is great even riding on stock shocks (though im probably getting shocks now since i regret installing the springs without them) and I have not bottomed out yet despite driving around Bellevue, Seattle, Burien, Redmond, Renton, etc..

I just talked o a guy that had his tC lowered and I cant see any issues with his bumper all the marks are under where you cant see.
Forget lowering the car it already looks pretty darn good, just get different tires. I believe a 225/45/17 would fill the wheel well in better and give a wider stance on the road. A sticky PZero among others and some sway bars will take care of traction, yet you can keep a comfortable ride around town.
i have tein s-techs and its not to bad. i only scrape when im going too fast. if you have the factory body kit you may have some issues(i dont have the oem kit), but mainly it comes down to your driving habbits. go up every driveway diagonally or at a crawl. just be more aware of the road for pothloles and whatever else may jump into your path. ive been driving lowered cars for years and have never ripped off or bent anything. never!
once you start driving low youll never go back to the 4x4 that is stock hight. but hey, to each his/her own. do what feels good.
Haha! I went from a 02 TRD Off-Road equipped Tacoma with a 3inch lift and 32" tires to my tC. Curbs? Never noticed those till I got the tC!
Scraped up two of my rims already parking too close to curbs.
I had Sway-A-Way coilovers in the front of my Tacoma, and man those were nice. I also liked that they were red! So, anyone know what height the adustable Tiens give at full height? Is it same as stock or higher or lower? If its stock, how much lower can you go with em?

before you lower your TC , are you going to change your stock rims ?? If you can wait, you get your rims and then you can decide how much you want to lower your car. But if you can't buy the adjustable ones. .
