Default some advice needed

right now on stock suspension, im stuck between h&r sport springs and trd struts, or tien h techs and trd struts. im looking for mostly performance and dont really feel like being slammed too much due to the city streets (kinda looks like a minefield with all the potholes) im running stock rims but am looking at going 18". thanks for the help guys

reviews from people with the same setup are appreciated greatly

if you wanna go performance go coilovers... you should be able to find a used set for the same price as new struts and springs.

Performance = Coilovers
Looks = Springs

I had Tein S-Tech springs on my last tC and and Tein Basic coilovers on the one I have now and it's a huge difference... Definitely much better in the corners and just all around driving IMO... Little more stiff, but you get used to it.

P.S. the nice thing about coilovers is you can adjust the height on them to fit whatever size rims you get... Whereas springs you're kinda stuck with how they settle...

1. we already have coil over suspension.

2. lowering springs and shocks CAN be for performance and handling like trd lowering springs are great for improving performance, while tein s-techs are not.

3. adjustible coil-overs allow you to dial in your handling preferences if you have the time tools and know-how, but their biggest advantage is that you can get them corner balanced for better weight distribution.

yaamakoh: thanks money isnt really the issue i strongly believe that suspension is one thing never to buy used

socleantc: im looking for both looks and performance, im going to be using it as a daily driver but i will be autoX at least twice a month

drax:for a daily driver and sometimes autoX would u rather be running springs+struts or coilovers? (im not really huge into autoX and this is my daily driver on horrible streets)

so yea im looking for some comfort too dont want anything too hard

springs and struts are fine for autocross and daily driving, been doing this for 3 years now on this set-up.

reason why i don't have coil-overs is 1. more money than i was looking to spend 2. i really didn't plan on taking the time to test and tune them to dial them in. and 3. most all coil-overs have a really low drop, and the trd springs and struts are low enough, don't be fooled by the "it is only a 1.25 inch drop" it is plenty.

now, next season i'm thinking about throwing on some adjustible coil-overs and having the car corner balanced for better weight distribution and better handling. but that is a big MAYBE.
