Default sport max rims = heavy has a bag of bricks

Sportmax rims. They look good, but once I saw the weight of one rim, I was totally turned off.

it weighs 26.5 lbs. each. that's without tires. imagine rolling on that in 18's.

SportMax has other options besides the 962 that your refering to. In general the lighter a wheel is in comparison to its size, the more expensive that wheel will be.

Look up some GramLites and see how much they cost

26lbs for 18"s is heavy??

The stock 17" alloys weigh 19-20lbs -- 43lbs with tires.

Then don't get the 962.

yes, that is ridiculously, laughably heavy, so heavy in fact, that you will notice a performance decrease in every sense of the way, acceleration, braking, turn-in, everything.

for reference, my SSR Comps are 18x8 and weigh 14.6lbs, 37.8 w/tire&balanced.

with a 23-24lb tire, that set would weigh 50lbs each. that's almost an additional 50lbs added to the car just from the 4 wheels. Think about it, you don't even lose 50lbs from a carbon fiber body panels everywhere, and you're adding weight to the one place you don't want to, unsprung weight.
