Spring Noise...Can anyone help or atleast give solid input.
Alright, I have the creaking noise coming from my springs in the rear. I have searched just about every possible thread that pertains to springs squeeking, but never found a solid answer on what I should try to rid the squeeks. The springs have been in for about a month and a half. It is not a horrible noise like there is something mechanically wrong, I am guessing coils may be rubbing? I don't believe it is an issue of loose bolts. I saw one thread that showed a product called noise stoppers, they seemed legit... but noone had really heard of them. So if anyone can give me some good input on what I should try I 'd appreciate it. I usually don't post topics but there is just not much about this issue.
I was going to try the noise things you saw in the other thread. I think they'd be worth a try - but I think you have to be sure to get them installed in the correct part of the coil where it would actually be rubbing (or doing whatever is causing the nosie).
Yea, I think im going to try those, if you look closely at the picture you can see that the rubber or whatever it is doesn't fully enclose the coil so I think you can slip them on without having to remove the spring. if this is the case you could jack your car up and at the most just take your wheel off and do a trial and error type deal. http://www.optomizescion.com/product...ry=Accessories
take a look at it tell me what you think

Ya, those are the ones I was looking at. And I'm pretty sure you're right about not having to undo the assembly. And jacking it up with the wheel off will allow it to decompress a little and give you some more room to work it in there.
Do you hear the creaking all the time (when driving)? I noticed mine squeaked when parked, when I got in and out of the car - at least I thought it was the springs. Found out it was actually the e-brake making the noise. Left the brake off one time, no creak - have since fixed it. You didn't describe when you're hearing it, so just throwing this out there.

(1). Does it squeak when you physically bounce a corner of the car? (like when you're checking shocks)
(2). I see Tein SSP's affected, what other brands are squeaking?
I get a terrible loud creaking sound when I go over speed bumps, driveway inclines/declines, turning over minor rough pavement and when making sharp turns. I have had all bolts re-torqued and the rear sway bar re-greased and so far nothing has helped.
Pushing down does nothing, its only when the suspension has to articulate over something.

Don't know about your Tein coilovers, but Tein puts hard rubber insulators on their springs.

Rears:

The "spring noise stoppers" linked in the earlier post sounds like a good idea. These photos show you don't need very many, just on the coils in very close proximity. My H-techs don't sqeak at all.
Notice on the fronts they didn't have to insulate each of the 3 closely-spaced coils at the top, just half of the coil in the middle.

My H-Techs never creaked. The problem with the "spring noise stoppers" on SSPs is that the spring on the SSPs is not progressively wound, that is to say the coils are all equidistant unlike the H or S tech or any other non-adjustable spring set available for the tC. ...however, I might take a look and see if there are any rub marks between the coils and perhaps throw my H-tech insulators on the ssp springs.
