Default Spring/Strut or Spring/Sway

So my GF does not like the way her tC handles. Way too much body roll in the corners and not very percise high speed lane changes. For her first mod, would going with the TRD Spring/Strut combo be better then going with the TRD Spring/Sway combo? If it makes it any better if I bought the Sway combo I would throw in an intake...

And what about the Hotchkis Spring/Sway combo? (Wouldn't get an intake with this setup b/c of more $$$)

Where is the best place to buy?

Thanks!

Sawys are a must, weither she lowers it or not. I don't have the Hotchkis sways, but a lot of people on here love them. The TRD rear sway works fine for my taste.

If you still want that springs I would say wait to buy them both at the same time, especially if you're installing them yourself. Otherwise, springs/sways gets my vote.

I would go with spring/sway combination. Only do hotchkis if she is planning on throwing the car on the track. For street driving, TRD is plenty good.

I would buy from www.trdsparks.com

yeah, trdsparks has great prices and fast shipping. i got trd springs and shocks, love the ride. had trd rear sway and dc strut tower brace, then switched to front and rear hotchkis sways. the hotchkis are awesome! worth every penny and with the adjustible settings she should be able to find a setup that makes her happy.

if you get springs, get the struts too, and i wouldnt' go lower than the trd drop out of fear of scraping the underbody on steep approaches and departures.

the trd rear sway is awesome. deffinetly turns the car from understeer to mild oversteer. i went around a corner a little to fast yesterday and the back end started to slide out instead of the front pushing. i also have hotchkis springs as well. the car handles good and rides nicely.

Wow thanks for such quick responses! We live in seattle and she daily drives the car over some seriously bad pavement.

How is the oversteer factor with just the rear TRD swaybar and stock springs/struts? I know it is a FWD car but I don't want it to be dangerous. The stock suspension is incredibly tall and soft...

minimal. not at all dangerous. Remember that the trd was designed for the car, so it's pretty close to neutral (stock having a load of understeer). The stock suspension IS garbage.

Alright, thanks for the responses. Looks like we will be going with the TRD combo. I will pick up some Struts at a later date. They are not too expensive to buy if for some reason her stockers decide to blow at 2000 miles.

just get the struts and springs done at the same time. why risk having a shock blow out? if she is complaining about the slopppy ride, then just changing the stock springs wont' make it that much better.

I've been running my stock struts on trd springs for about 35K now. no problems whatsoever. I don't notice a difference between my car and a friends who has the same suspension/tire setup but also with the trd struts. I can't see a difference. I don't think it's worth the $ for the benefits. I think you can do more with that +/- $500

Yea the TRD springs are not really that much more stiff. Which is a good thing for her. If it is really under dampened then we will get the TRD struts. But I don't think it will be looking at the specs...

either trd struts+springs/sways or hotchkis struts+springs/sways will make her tc handle a lot better
