Default Stiffest Springs?

Hello. I was just wondering which springs were pretty stiff. I have TRDs but they are just too bouncy. Any recomendations?

If TRDs are bouncy, your struts are shot. The TRDs are really good springs for this car.

If you just want to make it more performance oriented than the TRDs and want to run really stiff springs, then the Tein SS-P coilovers are about the stiffest package off the shelf.

Well its not that their really bouncy its just that I seen some cars that only go down very little when you have a person in the car. And looks like TRDs are a little softer I can say...I might go for coilovers if worst comes to worst....

and why does that matter? all springs will compress when weight is added to the car. and when the springs are compressed the ride will be stiffer.

anyway, really really easy way to figure this out is to just shop around, and see if they post in the specs the spring rates, and there you go, the highest one wins.

but take it from me, rolling around on trd springs and shocks, i've never once thought "this ride is just too bouncy!"

TRDs are one of the best choices of performance and streetability for this car hands down. The rates are plenty high enough for the drop to make them work well.

You really arent making a point of WHY this concerns you. Does the car handle well for what you use it for? If so, who cares if it looks like they compress more than you expect when you get in the car? If you like the ride height and the way the car rides and handles, then the TRDs are a great spring. Had you said you run htechs or stechs I would say otherwise, since they are not even designed well for their own ride height.. but the trds are.

So I guess the real questions are

1) What do you use your car for?
2) What is it doing or not doing that is hurting that?

I think the only ones that are stiffer then trds are progress. This thread on YST.com says s techs are stiffer than trds. I dont believe that.

The rates on that thread should be correct. They are only 30 or so lbs stiffer in the front and 12 in the rear. That is not a huge difference, and they are approx 3/4 inch lower, It is the combination of too much drop and not near enough spring rate for the amount of drop that makes them handle poorly.
