Default SUCCESSFUL INSTALL -- HOTCHKIS FRONT SWAY BAR

Talk about a disaster that luckly and by sheer accident we were able to fix and complete the job. I deff want to thank you Chris (my Misfit Tuners hommie) and Dave (my Misfit Tuners hommie) for all the time sweat blood and meal skipping we enduring during TWO very long crueling hard days of work. Talk about all the emotional rollercoaster I personally went threw. I went from sad, to worried to ____ed off to ready to give up back to ____ed off back to sad then suicidal then homicidal then just ready to call it quits and trade in the F*CKING TOYOTA/SCION and get soemthing w/real ***** and handling power.

Basically the pictures only speak so much for themselves. But they are misleading. It looks like it was easy in those pictures. YEAH THE F*CK RIGHT. Honestly on a difficulty level from 1 to 10.....this was deffiantely a 7/8 like I thought it would be. The instructions are all wrong misleading and not accurate enough to rely on.

I know I have about 5 cuts that actually bleed that I had to fill in w/greese in order to stop bleeding. I know you guys as well had cuts scrapes and bangs that hurt. Every 30 minutes at the very least I hear an "ouch" or a "your mother" or "son of a b....".

I personally want to thank you guys for enduring this ordeal with me and not letting me cry. To be honest I was so fustradted that I couldve done one of two things....1. CRIED or 2. KILLED SOMEONE THAT SO HAPPENED TO ____ ME OFF.

If you want a DIY....good luck getting one from me....on no site that I visited did I find any real helpful info. So....my suggestion is this...one tackle it on your own and see what I went threw or go the easy route and pay a shop to do this. To be honest...a shop is the way to go. But I do believe I am one of the few who successfully got it in and but everything back the way it should be...?....right?

BTW that lock of hair in some of these pics is hair that for some strange reason was found in my springs when we were working on my car.

Also you'll probably notice DIMPLE (NOT DRILLED) & SLOTTED ROTORS....they do wonders....and easy to do. Thats when we found the hair in my springs a week before the sway install. And it was in the garage so they used it to mess w/me while I was under the car, lol....luv ya guys -- bunch of MISFIT A$$HOLES....but Im glad to be boys w/ya.

YES safety...the front has to be suspended in air in order to do this on your own...

I assume you mean $200....for that price and all that work i wouldve gone the shop route...

but since i only did the front sway and it was gonna cost me $150-250 to do at a shop....yes it was worth the ordeal cause the handeling is day and night comparison.

I will never tell. Like I said...out every single site I went to...every thread I looked at...no one but no one had usefull ideas thoughts or opinions NO ONE tried to help anyone on this project...I am just repaying the favor in a general sence. Like I said tackle the project go threw what I went threw aND MAYBE i'LL LET YOUKNOW SOME SECRETS. Or go the easy route and take it to a shop. Im sorry usually im all about helping people and letting them know what went wrong and what needed to be doen to fix the issues...but this time I did it all on my own no help from any Scion member...since everyone wants to act like this is a civic forum...then act like it and just flame away...besides unless your gonna put in the hard sweat of 2 days work maybe 1 full day....then just take it to a shop....it is deffinately a difficulty leverl of 7-8...

Yeah the front hotchkis sway is a pain, and if you follow instructions you will probably kill yourself dropping the front support on your face which will happen if you do what they say. It was not fun for me but I managed it in about 2 hours total with a buddy lending a hand.

I put the car on jackstands and used another jack to support the engine / tranny support. When the main support was loose I let the jack down a little to lower it, swaped sways and then lifted it back up with the jack.... All this was done after I read the instructions and figured out how smashed I would be doing it by there book... there is allot more details than that of course but anyways...

end result it isnt an easy job if your not mechanically inclinded ot have knowledge on suspension plain n simple in english...or unless you have a certificed mech friend like i had on hand and it still took 2 days to figure out how to put back in alighnment the cradle w/the subframe to get the bolts threw...

Im not rubbing it in at all just informing people its doable but really hard work.

Agreed, it is a massive pain compared to the rear and hotchkis instructions... well would not matter if they included them or not, they suck.
