Suspension Question
My girlfriend has a 2007 tC and I have a couple questions about it. She has lowering springs for it (I believe they are TRD) and I want to put them on the car. She asked her father if we could use the lift he has in the garage to do it, but he said no because he needed to take it to the dealership to have the work done. He claims there is something that makes it difficult to install the springs and needs the dealer to do it. This completely baffled me. What could possibly be so hard about installing springs?
I drive an 05 WRX and installed springs on it no problem. I also had an 01 Eclipse and installed springs on there as well. Is there something I dont know about Scion suspensions??
Also, what is the stock wheel width for the tC?
Thanks in advance.

I'm right with you guys....this shouldn't take more than a few hours. I'm thoroughly stumped on this. He works on cars and restores them in his garage. He even has a lift in the garage for heavens sake....that's why I assumed that there was some factors that only the dealer could handle. I'm gonna have her ask him what the reason was why he couldn't install the springs.
I'm starting to think he was just to lazy to do it and came up with some BS

OK so an update...I found out that he just doesn't want her to drive around in the winter with the car being so low. Also, he mentioned something about how the springs were damaging the suspension....riiiight. He just really doesn't want her to have the car lowered.
This is true...but I think he was exaggerating how much damage was done. They we're only on for 1 summer and he said that the bump stops were destroyed. Oh well, needless to say I'm going to install the springs for her at my place next spring. Thanks for the quick responses.
