Default swindled? need help on spring purchase?

I bought some Springs from the classifieds and were told they were TRD's for the Tc.
They are white and have this 0510 TDF106r and 0510 tdf106f on them.

I cant seem to find any reference of the part numbers and i think i either got cheap ebays or????

Im afraid to put em on my car. If they arent quality.
any help would be gratley appreciated

thanks

I don't know anything about the numbers, but there were certainly TRD springs made in the white color.

Google: TDF106

Results show it's a reference number for Tanabe springs.

That info is backed up in ack's "Buyers Guide: Scion tC Suspension" thread, listed clearly in the table of the first post, as can be seen here;

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=89766

Elsewhere, I see it also appears to be the same part number for the '04 & later xB Tanabe springs!?!

I'm not sure whether or not they're up to your "quality" standards, as that differs greatly from person to person.

However, they're not TRD springs, and the specs are different too. The spring rate of those Tanabe's is only 5% greater than stock, the TRDs are stiffer and would perform better.

So what are you going to do?

How did you pay for them? and were they listed in the ad as "TRD Springs"? depending on some of the details... if you can verify that they are NOT TRD springs as advertised then you may have some legal room there. instead of going to eBay where you may or may not get what you paid for them back.
If you have the orig. ad... hold on to it as that can prove false advertising on the seller's part.

also...if you have a Toyota/Scion dealer close to where you live... why not pop by their parts department and show them one of the springs that has the numbers on it. They could tell you for certain if they are genuine Toyota or not.

ok...one last little blurb.... The main springs I've seen floating around on the net that are being passed off as original parts but are actually knock-offs are TEIN. You can tell the real from the fake....the real TEIN's have a painted on/stenciled brand logo..the fakes have a sticker that says "TEIN".

ok... Im done lol. just thought of that and wanted to pass it on so people looking for springs online dont get taken. I read that tid-bit in one of my recent Import Tuner issues that TEIN were one of the most "ripped off " design of aftermarket spring. The color of the knockoffs is identical to the real deal...so the logo being a sticker is basically the only way to know its fake.
