Default tC Camber Adjustment..

I have -2.0 drop in front, -1.6 in the rear. [H&R race springs] The inside of the front tires wears out quick. The rear tires also wear out but not near as bad.

Do I need some rear camber arms? If so, any recomendations? SPC? Hotchkiss? Progress?

I've been told that the rear is "maxed out" and therefor cannot be adjusted anymore with the factory adjustments.

Thanks, J

sounds like you need the front more than the rear... Dezod has both of them for sale now...

i was told that aswell and i bought hotchkis rear camber links and that took care of it. you say the front tires are wearing out, i would say get an allignment. You shouldnt need camber links for the front (i dont think they sell them). try an allignment first, is it noticeable up front camber wise? Can you see the negative camber?

The front wheels look fine, I only notice a difference in the appearance of the rear wheels
as in the top of the wheel is angled inward like this: / \

my rear wheels are like that, but not too bad. Dezod actually makes the fronts too. They actually have bolts that allow you to adjust the specs of the alignment.

I have some front bolts if needed, but I think the rear is the problem. Just trying to get a consensus., and see opinions on brands of rear camber kit. I only think this because the guy who did the alignment said the rear is maxed out and cannot be adjusted anymore.

Also, I am now a bit confused, do I get "camber arms" or is it "camber links" for the rear?

I have a set of Hotchkis Camber arms on my car and they work great. Super easy to install and after that took them in to get aligned.

Thanks for everyones response. I don't know anyone who has installed camber adjustment parts. I am going to get some rear camber arms plus the lifetime alignment from Firestone.

For those who have installed rear camber arms, I wanted to ask what you did after you installed the camber arms? Did you just install them then get it aligned and problem solved? Did you make any adjustments after your installation before you went for alignment? After alignment did you have to adjust the camber arms?

This will help me greatly.

if your steering is off, you need an alignment.

jason...have you tried a different shop?
my rear is dropped 1.7 and the second allignment shop I went to was able to get them into spec with the standard adjustments.
If not, get the hotchkis rear camber links...their the best ones out. Shouldn't need them up front.

First I went to NTB, and only got the 6 month warranty...which was a mistake. I just had the alignment done at Firestone, lifetime alignment, so I will see how it works out. They mentioned nothing of the rear being "maxed" out like NTB did. It seems to be doing well so far. There seems to be a slight pull to the left. I'll have to wait and see if I truly need the camber arms.

Only a few specs are out of "specified range": 1. the Front Left tire "SAI", the 2. front "cross SAI", 3. rear left tire "camber" . Everything else is within spec

I had tried Firestone and they said I had to get the camber links before they could adj the rear because there was nothing to adj on the tC. So I took it to Sears and the guy up there looked up the car, put it up on his lift and was able to allign everything back to specs without any issues. Only thing i was told is since it was a lowered car that Sears would not warranty the work.

how much were they able to adjust it with the stock setup, would it be worth spending the money for an aligment without buying any other after market parts. im on s tech so its pretty low, i have been lazy about getting it aligned cause i want to buy the right stuff to do it

Not sure what you mean...if they can't get it into spec with the stock stuff, they wont' do anything, so it shouldn't cost you anything.
My Hothckis are just as low, if not lower, then your s-techs, and the shop got mine within spec with the stock adjustments.

If the shop can't do it, find another one. If you can't find any shop that can do it, then go buy some camber links.

ive been on s techs for over a year now. i recently went to a shop for alignment and they told me the same thing. that they couldnt adjust the rear camber any more n told me to get a set of camber arms. my rear camber was really bad like at -2.8. so it seems everyone is recommending the Hotchkis kit? what am i looking to spend?

my rears were at -2.8 and -2.6 degree camber after my coil install and the shop i took it to was able to get it back into spec to about -0.8 and -0.7 degrees after alignment.

fronts went from -2.0 and -2.2 after coil install to -1.2 and -1.1 degree after alignment.

camber links/plates arnt really needed.....not for setting it to factory specs at least
