nothing wrong with the trd drop, it doesn't sound like a big drop, but it is very noticible, mostely in the rear at first, bu then you see the front side start to come down.

i have Htechs and i love them. i was thinking about TRDs but from what ive seen they look inconsistent b/w drops. but like bluemeanie said... HTECHS should have been the way the car comes stock. lol

here's another vote for htechs with 18''s. i have the emx wheels as well-- it's the perfect drop imo.

never been in a trd-dropped ride to compare to stock, but i can say htech ride quality is not bad at all, mine is a daily driver too.

those are the lowering springs i want - yesterday i saw a turbo tc w/ those springs and i think the car looks so sexy w/ that drop. those r the springs ima get. - he told me that it rides better than stock and that it doesnt rubb.

Aik, that looks great.

I'm also debating on springs between TRD and H-Tech (S-Tech would be too low for me). Just looking to get rid of the wheel gap on stock 17" and not be too low for the crappy roads and hills around here.

The thing that's throwing it off for me is the shock issue. That puts me over budget for now. Would new shocks pretty much be necessary to take full advantage of the new springs and make the car handle properly? If so, which shocks? TRD? What have you guys done?

moosey, i talked to a few shop guys here and they said it wasn't imperative that i replace the stock shocks right away with the htech drop; however they did say it would be a good idea if i could afford it. my plan is to try and get 15-20k miles on the stockers before replacing them.

the trd drop might be good for crappy roads, but i'm not sure 1.2'' is enough to adequately fill your gaps if concerned with aesthetics, especially on 17''s.

That was what I was kind of thinking too. I know the TRD should be good for crappy roads but I didn't want to spend all that money to have a drop that's not really all that noticeable. That's why I was thinking H-Tech. Just don't know how bad that would be with snow though also.

ahh really? yeah i don't really know what to expect with the settling.

moosey, fortunately we don't have to worry about snow down here in florida. it always amazes me when i see people advertising their "winter ride setups"! and yeah i had the same kind of feeling-- why pay that much money for something barely noticable, heh.
