More preferable if you use a spring compressor, or you could choose to have the spring fly out and hurt yourself and others.

Its not that hard just takes up A lot of time. I took mines to get installed. They charged me $100 . Good price. If any one lives in Los Angeles hit me up n ill tell ya the spot to install your springs.

I would advise you to acquire a spring compressor else one of the following may occur.

1. You get hurt
2. Your friend gets hurt
3. You lose the nut at the top
4. You both get hurt

I know a guy that needed to be air lifted to a hospital due to the spring hitting his face...I would not do it without one.

I hear you can just take off the whole strut with the spring on it and bring it to a Mavis they will swap the s-techs for like 50$ then just reinstall the strut with the s-tech on it back on the car and your done.

^problems are going to happen if the rear struts aren't put together in exactly the same position as they were before taking them apart.
