I'm ridin' on S-Techs with a 18" rim on 255/40/18 tires...slight rub when I run over a dip in the road, other than that...love it!

18x9.5 38 offset. 225/40/18. NO RUB unless you gun it on speed bumps.

Depends on what your looking for i had trd springs on and i can tell you their garbage the drop was so minimal it looked stock. i have tien s techs now and i love the look but i rub on every bump. way better though than trd with my car boucing left to right.i also have 18 " rims and the tire is 235/40/18.

You may like the look better, but TRD is a much better setup for handling than stechs. IF you look at what many others that compete with their cars run, you will see that. Actually, the preferred setup is a tad lower than TRD with higher spring rates (And this is what I have found is needed after autoxing 2 years with the TRDs). Stechs are around 85% lower than TRDs (which, is much lower than the sweet spot on this cars geometry which is bad by itself) but have rates that are only 20% higher, which is way too soft for that much drop. This is why some have tried autoxing on them and had to deal with bouncing off the bump stops in every hard turn.

So if you just like the more extreme drop and dont mind sacrificing handling, then that is fine for what you want. But TRDs are far from stock height rise either, just not as slammed as some would like, so it depends on what you want.

^^ yup on the ss-ps Those arent THE best, but pretty good. The SS-Ps have high rates, adjustable camber up front with the pillow ball mounts adjustable damping and of course adjustable ride height. I will be setting mine up (changing to those as soon as it warms up a bit here) at about 1.4 inches of drop, which seems to be the consensus from most on the optimal drop for our geometry.

Something from JIC would be better, but much more spendy.

If you dont want to drop $1500 or so on the coilovers (And you probably dont need to unless you really want to tune and corner balance it) then I do hear that H&R Sports are pretty nice. I dont know the rates, but they are right at the 1.4 inch drop. I think some have had good luck with progress, but they are a bit lower than optimal. However, if you really want the more extreme drop, they are probably about in the middle between way too low and the right drop. So those may be an option as well.

A number of us have collected info on the springs, rates, suspension info, etc at these links.

yeah your right "engifineer" it all depends on what your looking foir. if you want looks like i did go with s techs if you want aggressive handling well i cant really point you in the right direction as i really never looked into other springs besides trd and stechs.

I actually like the TRD drop much better lookswise than the stechs, but that is all personal preference so that will vary person to person of course.

Sid buy my S-Techs when I take them off my tC when I get back from school in the summer. S-techs are the way to go. Ill let you see my tC sometime (I dont think you've ever seen it in person). S-techs are the perfect drop really. And Idk why people say they slam the tC. It really doesnt. When i first got strings i was worried about going to low and i didnt want stechs for that reason. But then i saw a friend of mine with them on his tC and i had to order myself a set.

18's are fine with stechs or Htechs. I run Stechs and i have 18's. If you want a two to three finger gap on your car then get trd's. Anything else will put u with less then that.

I ended up getting htechs with tokico hp struts figuring mild drop with great struts...when the struts made the car drop even more i believe...the ride quality is similar to stock, soft for the most part, but stiff when you need it to be cause of the struts...

I'm lovin the set up...

Springs dont install on your wheels, so you dont have to reinstall springs when you change wheels.
