Three S-tech installation questions...
1) Cutting the bump stop. According to the paperwork i'm supposed to cut the rubber bumpstop. is this required, what are the benefits, reasons for doing so, etc...
2) Reusing the top piston lock nut. The paperwork says to not use the original lock nut when reassembling the strut. Is this absolutely necessary? If so, where can i get replacements? Any hardware store, or the dealer?
3)Is there any other hardware i need to install the springs?
I'm hopefully getting these installed tomorrow, so i'd like some help from those who already have S-techs installed, or any springs for that matter.

i cut my bumpstops in half. i think the reasoning is you are lowering your car and cutting the bumpstop allows for more suspension travel. the directions i had also said to replace the lock nut. i reused mine, just be sure to torque it to spec. as far as tools, a spring compressor, jack and some sockets aand ratchet are a ll you need, maybe a breaker bar
