Default TRD Coilover Set

So I was at mcgeorgeparts.com and it turns out they have a forum now... which contained this:

Topic: TRD tc coilover set

TRD is working on a adjustable coil-over set for the Scion tC no ETA at this time
I am guessing sometime in the spring

Looks like pricing is around $1475.00 LIST

these new performance things are interesting to me, because i think they're actually getting competitive with gm and mazda. i mean you wil soon be able to buy coilovers for a mazdaspeed3, which is turbo, and supposedly that world racing turbo kit is coming. and they bought an lsd from quaife, which is what both mazda and gm offer.

hmmm.

If any of this speculation is true and Scion is aiming at competition against certain performance sport compacts then I could see Scion making the next generation tC (whatever it will be called) more powerful and probably even more customizable performance wise.

Anyways I wonder if these coilovers are going to be based off another company’s product like the TRD LSD is. I know they used the Progress coilovers in their tC pace car in the Formula Atlantic series so I would not be surprised if these will be either based on the Progress coilovers or even rebadged Progress coilovers.

lots of reasons, but hey who's doing research nowadays right?

lets not forget gm either. their cobalt ss is pretty amazing in performance. it's proven itself quite a bit already. fwd isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

what do these cars have in common.... limited slips, good suspensions, and forced induction.

That's what all TRD parts are anyway. TRD does the R&D and outside companies make the part. Progress makes the Celica coilovers for TRD so I would assume these are made by them as well.

No not necessarily. It's done similar in Japan. They're just closer with the companies that the deal with in some respects.

Yes that will turn heads especially since with factory performance options (catback exhaust and cold air intake) raise that to around 310 ft/lbs of torque and with almost 300 HP yes it can be quite quick.

well, the difference is that the quaife/trd is the only good differential out there, while you can just buy another brand of coilovers.
