trd spring install suggestions
i just got my trd springs in from sparks and want to install them. i am sure i am capable of installing them myself, the problem lies that i do not the tools to do it. a local shops wants $150 which i think is alot. if it were like 80-100 i might have them do it. any suggestions?
if a shop quoted you at $150 for a spring install that is ridiculously low, there's at LEAST 3 hours involved with the install and it's time consuming... not accounting for the tools needed like a compressor, air drill, spring compressors etc etc.
make sure you know they do good work because 150 for that kind of install is pretty low actually. any dealership would ask at LEAST $500 and most other shops ask about 200

how can a dealer quote you $100 for the spring install. in NY, the best price i got from a dealership was from smithtwon scion, who wanted about $400 plus tax. others wanted more, with one dealership telling me that it was $750 plus tax. they said it was at least 6-8 labor alone(they're morons and liers). they told me that for the $750 it included alignment-lucky f-in me. i'm getting jeff from scionrg to do it for $80 tomorrow morning. if u can get a dealership to do it for less than $200, it would be stupid to get it anywhere else. dealer install comes with a 3 yr warranty. if you get it done somewhere else, go to the dealership for the alignment that way if anything goes wrong, you can say that they did the alignment and told you everything was fine.

$150 is one hell of a price. Thats what I charge. Its about 2 hours work. I will have a good used set of tC TRD's in stock in a couple weeks if you want to save some coin.
