TRD Spring installation question!
Okay I went to Cowboy Toyota yesterday and got a quote to install TRD Springs. They said it's going to be $508.00 for installation plus tax!!!yea WTF, I was speechless!! My question is, did anybody paid that much to install some springs!
lol wow... thats the quote i got from the dealership.... all u need is spring compressors.... and an impact wrench.. makes things much faster.. i put springs on in about 3 or so hours... after the first one it gets much easier
Yeah, dealership=rape....Get the tools and do it yourself or have a friend do it. They are really easy to install, just takes some time and patience. I went to the hobby shop on base and we used their air tools and lift for like $70. Also got the tires balanced.
Yeah the back is harder to get at than the front, but once you get it out the new ones go in pretty easy.........wish I had access to a garage back when I paid ot have mine done......I wold of jsut done my own........
Get a few friends and rent the tools to do it yourself. Took me about 3 hours with my bro to do it. Probably could have shaved an hour off of that had the damn spring compressor we had not been such a POS.
i might cut slits in the carpet in my trunk to get to the nuts instead of stripping everything out. that way i can go back and check the tightness every so often and further suspension work wont be so time consuming.
