Default Uneven lowered car? Blown shock or bad springs?

Hey guys,

Right now my car is lowered on TRD springs on oem shocks. Recently, Ive been noticing a large gap between sides. I did get into an accident about 7 months ago with damage to the front passenger side. I had to replace the shock for that corner.

I knew it was going to be a given that my front passenger will sit a bit higher since its a brand new shock, compared to a more used shocked on the other 3 corners.

Here is how my car sits:

Front LEFT: 1.75 (1.5-2) finger gap
Front RIGHT: 2 finger gap
Rear LEFT: 1 finger gap
Rear RIGHT 1.25-1.5 gap.

This is really puzzling me since all 4 corners are being weird! Now I cant seem to find the reason to this. My sub sits on the right side (REAR RIGHT). Nothing much on my rear left. Im the daily driver, and Im not more than 135 pounds. What can it be???

Do you guys think I have blown shocks? Possibly the rear left and its sagging the front left and rear right? Do you guys think its the springs?

Im asking this because I really want to go lower. Im debating between some:

1. cheap coils (raceland lols)
2. TRD or Tokico blue shocks with TRD springs (already own)
3. TRD or Tokico shocks with new springs (new progress springs)?

HELP! Opinions pls!

My car sits even on the ground at the suspension shop because the floor is perfectly flat. When its in the street or in my backyard, it is uneven because the ground is uneven. Just something to think about.

Accident + TRD springs = uneven car. Mine hasn't been in an accident but the harder I drive the car with the TRD's, the more it changes. I can assure you they were installed properly and Toyota did the rear camber adjustment after install but it's the nature of the beast when it comes to springs settling in and them squatting like all TRD's do anyhow. The accident did not help the situation and it is also possible that shocks may be blown but some residue would be apparent if that were the case.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I checked all 4 corners. Struts are perfectly fine. No oil or residues around on the struts. Its actually really clean, Im surprised.

Do you think its the springs? Im really leaning towards some used trds/tokico struts with new springs. yay or nay?

TRD springs have a rep for settling uneven. When I had mine the right side was higher than the left. Have some friends that had the same problem.

Yeah, my right side is a bit higher. Did you do anything to fix it?

Yeah probably nothing I can do about it huh? Ive read a few more threads about people complaining how theyre sagging now. These springs probably have about 15k on them. ouccch

What do you guys think about racelands? Or used tokico with progress springs?

Each person tends to have a different definition of perfect when it comes to ride height and quality. Do the research and find out what will most likely suit your needs best and then pray like we all do after dumping hundreds or more dollars into your TC I like the handling and drivability of the TRD springs and I don't have to worry about scraping anything whenever I wanna romp on it around curves and bumpy roads. It rides like stock when cruising but most of the handling comes from the other suspension mods I have like F+R sway bars, strut tower bar, and wider tires. Good luck!

Yes, I got coilovers lol. I tried putting weights on the right side but that didnt help much. Though something I was thinking of doing when I had the springs is move the left side springs to the right. Now I dont know if that will work or not.

There's really no way to tell for sure exactly what's causing the problem. There are just too many variables. It could just be the springs sagging differently. It could be that one shock is stronger than the others - this would push one corner higher, but also push other corners lower at the same time. It could be that the unibody or other components got tweaked a tiny bit in the accident. It could be that the alignment conpensated for a slightly bent piece somewhere... there's really no way to know.
If you want it to sit perfectly level then you're best bet would be to get a set of coilovers and adjust the height at each corner until you get it just right.
