Ways to revive rusty coilovers?
Their a sealed unit, coke won't hurt them.
Even though they are soaking already, grab a wire brush from a parts store and a bottle of "rust inhibitor" which will completely stop anymore rust from starting.

Before putting them in there I spent about an hour with a wire brush on a power drill cleaning the threads and the body up. Between that and PB Blaster I got the collars loose.
wow you can tell the difference with the collars and threads! looking good bro i hope they come out brand new!

I could have let them sit longer, but my friend said I can use his shop tonight and he'll help me throw them on. Midnight suspension install, awwwyeah!
They cleaned up well. I had them in the Coke for about an hour and 45 minutes. The collars came loose right away afterward. The wire brush helped, too.
