would this be a bad thin to do?
i like the trd drop but i want the front to be dropped more.... would you guys think it would be ok to just swap the fronts with h-techs and leave the rear with the trd ones..... or would the ride be not that great?
I dont know personally. But different springs available for the tC have different drops from front to back so what would be the difference if you used trd rear, hotchkis front?
Most people would say, well there is different spring rates between the two, different ride heights. And that is true. BUT, people put adjustable coilovers on and then adjust dampening force, ride height, shock rates and there is no problem. When you corner balance a vehicle, all 4 corners will have different settings, heaights, and adjustments, and that is when you get THE BEST handling in a car.
So why would it be bad to have two different style springs?

thats what i was thinkin.. cause maybe some people might think hotchkis or h-tech are too for their likin and might consider trd or somethin and we could just swap out cause i have a shop where we can do it for free....but anyway thanks for the replies
It wouldnt be bad if they were adjustable. If they arent, you are just rolling the dice as to whether they will balance well on the car together. When you run un-even drop, you are changing the weight distribution characteristics as well, so you really need a set that is built to work together or something adjustable so you can properly tune it.
Doesnt EVERY company (for the tC) run an un even drop tho? (except trd) I havent heard anyone complain about the un even drops.
Just throwing thoughts out there. I dont know from personal experience. Just havent heard any issues with s techs for instance. (an un even drop)

My point is not that an uneven drop is bad, it is that the set of 4 springs is designed for the uneven drop and the characteristics changed. If you go mix and match, they springs are not garaunteed to be optimized for each other.
every springs have different rate and height to them...both tein and hotckis have more of a drop on the front...both have different spring rates on them...most springs have a lower drop on the front too.. and havin the trd spring i know that they drop more than stated by trd... more like h-techs...people who have/had the trd kno what im talkin and just by seein pic too...but anyways..yea
