Default Yet another Brake Q...

Been looking for a 4 piston caliper upgrade but have only found:

Are Rotoras any good? (noob) and are there any other brands making aftermarket Calipers for the tC?

StopTech

Stiffest calipers on the market with some of the best flowing rotors out there. Also, the kits are track tested to ensure ideal brake balance which is the only way to effectively reduce stopping distances. More info here: http://www.zeckhausen.com/testing_brakes.htm As of now, we are the only comapny who does this testing and can guarantee that the car will match or beat stock performance. In many cases our competitors will perform worse than stock as seen in the recent Acura RSX Challenge: http://www.stoptech.com/company_info...hallenge.shtml

We are also Toyota's choice for the brake upgrades used on the Long Beach Grand Prix Celebrity race tC's: http://www.toyota.com/motorsports/ne.../10-06-01.html

Thanks for the help.

Hey Instigator, what are you rolling on? 17s? 18s? Did you have to use a spacer?

Those are the stock 17s with a 5mm spacer and it is very very close. I would recommend upping the spacer to something like the 15mm H&R option which is hubcentric. The 5mm spacer is not hubcentric and the wheel register is lost which causes some vibrations at highway speeds.

I've also been probing around at some aftermarket wheels, do you think a bigger wheel could avoid getting a spacer all together? say 18s?

The stock wheels have suprisingly good clearance, and many aftermarket wheels will fit with no spacer. To ensure that the wheels you choose will fit, we have a wheel fitment template avaialble for download here: http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/ch...55-2430-02.pdf

Instructions on how to use the tmplate are here: http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wheel_fitment.shtml

Many times, the manufacturers or retailers can use out templates to check clearance for you before the wheels are purchased.
