ZPIracing engine limiter.. **new product**( PICS )
Whocares:
Have you driven at all with the limiter without the Ingals dampner?
I mean, if you only had one or the other, which do you think helps with traction more, and which do you think makes for a noiser ride?

you think this new product limits too much of the engine's movement? i know cars are supposed to have some natural movement, and could see a lot of parts wearing down faster, since the carmaker compensated for the moving in the engine bay....just curious, cause the tq dampener feels pretty good.....lemme know what you all think....only issue i see with it is that it may limit too much of the movement...

I know the limiter will help with traction better. the ingalls is louder

We put mine on the lift and fully installed in under 10 minutes!
the zpi limiter is very effective, it helps a lot with wheelhop.
however, vibrations are horrible, i took it out and only use it for autox days.
I installed the speed-source mounts and those are good, they make some vibrations at the beginning but after they get breaked in vibrations start going away.
The limiter still works better though, good product zpi.
We need to get more companies like them to make quality/performance products for scions... not only show or looks, performance...

Well after reading about the Limiter creating vibrations I have a question. It probably is a dumb question but lets see what comes out of it
.
Like the Ingalls ETD, when it came out it vibrated extremely so someone put some sound deadening on it (dynamat). And it reduced the vibrations.
Would Sound deading the car or the firewall, or for that matter the Zpi Limiter Help with vibrations in any way?
Any comments welcome

I honestly don't think so... meaning as, where would you put that dynamat??? there's no room for it unless you mod the limiter.
The limiter is holding the tranny against the body/chassis.
I would say the only thing that could help is using some type of rubber between the limiter and the body, or maybe "modding" the limiter and putting some polyurethane rubbers on the side that's held by the body. I've been thinking on doing it... when i get some time

See I was thinking that if at all possible to put a small piece of dynamat or sound deadening on the contact points of the limiter, where the bolts go. Now you would have to make holes in the sound deadener to get the bolts in but have the deadener act as a gasket to the contact points. Do you know what I mean?
Also. what about sound deadening the fire wall of the car. I assume thats where all the vibration is comming in so wouldnt that help? lol.
Now I know that this limiter will make the car louder and that it is expected but it wouldnt hurt trying to make this comfortable as well lol. For all of those wondering.
Keep us updated on how it goes with the urethane on the Limiter.
I am very interested in the results of that.
Yeap, I see what you mean. But I still doubt it will help, if you can try it let me know though! :D
As for my limiter, yes, some day I'll do it jeje, I'm actually trying to get some stuff setup correctly in my suspension/alignment, but as soon as I get my car to handle close to how I want it, then I'll go back to think what I could do with the limiter, just give me a few weeks, I will def post it here if I do it
