Default 225/45/17s fit on stock rims?

Just wondering if 225/45/17 sized tires would fit on the stock rims without doing any damage and if it would improve the handling at all. My car isn't lowered so the clearance isn't an issue.

I think they might be too wide. I have 225/40/18 on my 18s from the factory but I dont think the factory 17s are wide enough for them to fit. Not sure if it will help your handling but it might help your braking.

please use the search function!!!! this questions has been asked 100 times.

yes you can run them no problem. I ran the Falken 512's on stock rims for 6 months before I traded in the tC. Although you should not go any wider than 225 because the stock rim is too narrow. If you want to run 235 and wider tires, you need wider rims.

I think they should have made the stock wheels 225's. They actually fill out the rim more and less chance of rim rash
