Hey there just posting up my new rubber. I got the Continental Extreme Contact DW in 225/45 on my stock rim. Seems to be a good fit and there is some extra cushion for the curbs which actually came in handy pulling out of the parking garage today
Hope this answers any questions of "will a 225 fit on a 7 inch rim". Also be sure to check the manufacturer of the TIRE to see if that particular model will fit.
Yup! I've been running this since the first set from the dealership wore out. I work at a tire Shop so I've had plenty of time to experiment. I have successfully mounted ( although it wasn't easy to get them to bead ) a 245/40/17 pilot sport a/s3 on our stock wheels. It looked like too much and would allow for too much side to side slop. But it's possible. I run the 225/45 even though lowered on tien s-techs. Rubs the plastic fender liner once in a while, but no big. The extra traction helps at the track and when taking 30 mph off ramps at 65. :-P
