Default Avon Tech M550 A/S

Hi guys,
I know this sort of topic has been covered many times, I just really need to be sure of the EXACT size that I need as the return policy is not in my favor.

I know that we currently have 215/45-17 size tires stock on the tC. Now I want to put the Avon Tech M550 A/S tires on the tC, and i've read that we can go up to the 225 size.

First, is the information all correct, and second, is the correct size for the 225 size, 225/45-17 or is it 225/40-17 for example.

From what i've heard, I should get the Avons in size 225/45-17 and I will have no problems...correct?

Thanks, sorry for the ignorance!

bump - i'm still trying to find out if I can fit the Avon's in size 225/45-17 on my stock rims? If not, what is the ratio for a 225 width?

Here's a list of tires sizes (albeit some won't work) that will fit your stock rim...

You'd be aight going with 225/45. Also, I have PZero Neros on my 18" 5Zigens and those tires are the best! Nice and quiet. Wear well too.

I thought that once you go up to 235 you definitely won't be able to fit them on the stock 17s let alone the 245s. But hey, i know quite little about this stuff, so if you say that the 225s will fit, i'm goin for it unless someone else tells me otherwise!

225/45R17 will fit fine on the stock wheels. Go for it....

Oh yeah another reason I stayed with 215's is because the way the 215's are built it looks like 225s already - the sidewall is stiffer and straighter than the stock potenzas so it looks like there's more tire.

Awesome. I'd consider the 215s, but I already ordered the 225s, so i'm not gonna bother returning and repurchasing, but you're right, the difference between 215 and 225 is hardly noticable anyway
