Has anyone else used Woolite to remove brake dust that is on their rims? Windex and water just seem to smear it, but Woolite removes dust REALLY well. Sure beats buying expensive cans of remover that don't work!

Yeah I know! It's rare that I let my wheels get that dirty, but it happened once or twice. Try it (if you think of it) next time. It's a weird use for Woolite, but whatever works!

 

Flint does have a tendancy to show every spot, thats for sure!

I used DP Wheel Glaze before winter and have had ZERO problem with brake dust. I wipe them off once a week with a microfiber damp with water or detail spray, and they stay shiny and clean! May want to give it a try. Its the only wheel cleaner/wax(?) I've used thats actually worked!

 

Woolite makes your wheels smell good too... j/k

I was told that spray silicone will seal your wheels and cause brake dust to slide off.
I am now using Mguirer's wax and it works well. No dusty build-up. No sticky mess on your wheels. Wipe at tire rotation times.

I say that about the "Mr.Clean AutoDry" that stuff works sooooo good and makes your car smell great after, lol cologne for your car

i would agree with rain x i have same thing, works AMAZING, and yet so damnn cheap, i couldnt believe it till i used it, something so cheap, that works as something equivalent to such an expensive item.

 

RainX on your BRAKES?! Are you mad? RainX is alcohol based. Put that on something that's friction based and heat based? You're gonna light your brakes on fire.

Still on your wheels it doesn't make sense.

What I've found is that OxiClean works well.
Just dissolve a scoop of it in water and wash down the wheels.

Not on the brakes man, just on the rims... if youre that worried, then you wouldnt use tire shine which is full of petroleum. Anyways... watch more racing, brakes catch fire all the time... btw, your avatar is hilarious... I couldnt stop laughing for some reason :thumbsup:

i like brake dust. it makes my wheels look bronze or im just too lazy to clean it
