You ask first "how to do donuts in the tC", now "how do I burn out", and have asked questions about whether it is damaging to burn out and what wheel hop is. Again, try not to take this the wrong way, but you know little to nothing about sporty driving at all or the way a car is set up and what makes it tick, yet are always asking about info on how to drive like some fast and furious kid. Learn to drive normal, take the time to learn defensive driving, learn what makes a car handle and what to do as well as what not to. Dont just ask these questions on here and go out thinking you can drive like a stunt driver.. you will end up killing your car, yourself, or some innocent bystander.
but the thing is, i will Not be doing any of this, i will not even try it on my baby, (by the way i am less than 20, i am 18, and NO i am paying for the car myself through my job 3/4 of my paycheck alright, i just want background information on typical things like that since (as it seems) everyone on this website knows more about that,
i have negelected all information about performance and so forth
and have been WORKING on engines, trans, and exhausts

First of all, what is the big deal about your parents paying for your car? Who gives a S***? I am 19, attend college and have no time for a job to pay for a $300 car payment, therefore, my parents pay my car payment. And the big deal is? Nothing. Absolutely Nothing. However, just becuase my parents are paying for it does not mean that I treat my car like s***. I baby my car like it's a new born.
Ok, now onto the second (and probably the most stupid) part of your comment. You my friend, are a liar. I am hereby calling you out on that part of your message becuase if you worked on engines even in the least bit, you would know how to do a (newbie) manuever such as a burnout. Hell, I have never worked on an engine a day in my life, but i would stake my car on the fact that EVEN I know more about cars than you do. Well I take it back, I did own a civic that me and my buddies used to mess around with, so I know a good bit about cars.
But dear god, please do some of your OWN research before coming here and asking questions that you KNOW you'll get blasted for asking. Go to www.howstuffworks.com or something at least.
Well anyways... my rant is over, I've turned off my flamethrower and am now prepared for your worthless rebutle. And now, no matter how hard you try, you will never be able to redeem yourself from the infamous questions of "how do i do a burnout?" and "is it possible to do a donut?"

i burn out in my auto tc, rev to like 3000rpms and then let off a little while im shifting it into drive the slam the gas, it works every time, unlike my auto tiburon i had that was rear wheel drive the axle couldnt take it, but the tc goes smoothly....ah the sweet sweet smell of burnt rubber
Well, seeing as how everyone else pretty much lashed you like you were a Red Headed Step Child, I won't. Infact, I am going to pass on the information that you so wish to know. Everyone has to start somewhere Right? And quite frankly I don't understand why there is so much condesending tone in peoples post. I'm not your daddy, nor wish to be, so I'm just going to actually ANSWER your question, instead of making myself out to be an A$$. Just because he asked such a minute question. I would be curious to know all of you that posted up snide remarks, if IN FACT you have ever even DONE a burnout before. This is what makes me stop wanting to be apart of SL. Because of snotty nose kids who think they know everything, and think just because that some other teeny bopper makes a post with a small request, that you are somehow BETTER than they are, when you can't even prove you Know, or Know how to preform whatever it is being asked. 2 Pages of just BS....Just ANSWER the "F"inn question already....Geesh! You people act like, just because you step behind the wheel of a car, you must somehow MAGICALLY inherit the abilty to do all things with the car, and somehow this kid missed his MAGIC wand that teachs him how to do a simple burnout. EVERYONE has to start somewhere. You wasn't born with the knowledge of doing a burnout, and neither is he. With that said, here is the information that you need to know.
Q1) Who the HELL does a burnout in Reverse?
A 1) Nobody smart enough that is. Traction down a track moves forward, not backwards.
Q2) How do you do a burnout to begin with?
A2) Only for a FWD car: Pull up the e-brake so that your back tires lock up. Now, rev to oh say....3k RPM possibly 4k. And then dump the clutch (Let it out real fast while applying the gas). From this point, when the tires start to break, you want to FEATHER you gas. Some people just mash it to the floor, and hold it at redline(I will never do that to any car). Feathering the gas, means to keep pumping on the gas pedal, so that you never put the revs at Redline, and you keep them above the 3-4k RPM's. Side note: It's good to poor a little water down on the pavement you intend on smoking your tires on.
MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION AND ANSWER
Q3) WHY do you do a burnout?
A3a) The PROFESSIONAL reason would be, Because you are at an actually 1/8th, or 1/4th mile track with softer compounded rubber tires on your car(ie...Drag Radials/Slicks). The softer compound rubber has a heating threshold that needs to be "warmed up" to be able to apply maximum grip. Some slicks require little to no burnout to get them to apply max grip, so you need to find out if they infact have a heat rating or not, if you were to purchase tires and actaully go to a track. We run the BFGoodrich T/A Drag Radials on our car, and you have to warm them up before they will grip. I've been looking into upgrading to slicks that don't require a burnout. There is no reason to burnout on street tires, as they don't have a heating rate, so all your really doing is just taking off necessary tread, but whatever floats your boat
A3b) To try and look cool in front of your friends. Which 8 times out of 10 actaully never goes according to plan. And 10 times out of 10, makes you look stupid IF your car isn't even fast.
And if someone post a snide remark after this about how...."well you can do a burnout this way, and that way", just to be (in girl terms) "Catty" with me. Just EXACTLY how many ways do you NEED to know how to smoke tires up. It all has the same goal in mind. So, who gives a Crap...
And just so you know that I can back up what the hell I'm saying, and not just blowing smoke at you.....
Enjoy

We bash him, because doing burnouts, and doing donuts is retarded. Anyone who does it on the street deserves for their car to break, or better yet, deserves to get it impounded when you get arrested.
no, I have never done a burnout
Yes, I have done my share of burnouts, donuts, running 80 mph down curvy dirt roads (in a rwd of course), etc. The point I was making is that he needs to learn more about a car before he starts acting like a typcial "tuner". Most of which are young, learned how to bolt on a few parts and now thinks they are a pro race driver. But , hey, whatever floats your boat

Hmm...I don't recall him ever stating that he planned on doing it on the streets. Maybe I missed that part.
And that's why you give them the much needed information to let newbies know how to do something....But more IMPORTANTLY, when and why. Not for the streets...IMO.
