Default Got a slight problem

Yo guys, heres the dilemma. Got aftermarket wheels for my TC but the idiot that I am, didn't know about the tire pressure sensors that Scion had on the stock wheels so I accidently sold them along with the wheels. Now the light for the tire pressure is always on and it bugs me. Wondering if anyone knows how to turn it off?

So far, went to the dealership to see if they can do it for me. Their answer was no and their solution was 4 new sensors at $180 a piece. FML

You cant turn it off, you can take the led out or cover it up with some electrical tape.

Take apart the instrument panel (all you need is a phillips head screwdriver) and you'll see a very easy way to get rid of the light. There is a channel of white plastic that you can plug with anything that blocks light (electrical tape). You can also de-solder it if desired. Other than that... you are SOL.

with time you will start to forget that the light is there, it only blinks for about a min and then just stays on

Don't know if it works on our cars but you could try.

I wouldn't ever recommend that to anyone.

If you go sell the car and forget about it and the new owner doesn't know, that could be a problem.

^^True, but he already sold the old wheels, so they wont have the tpms in them when he sells the car so their is really no point.

But I see your point

All I gotta say is "As-Is Bill of Sale". If they don't know to look for that light at start up and buy the car anyway, sucks for them.

Ya, but if you cover it from inside the cluster, how are they going to know?

I won't be selling my TC for a while so I guess from what I've read, have to improvise somehow either with electric tape or take out the led. Just wish there was an easier way of getting rid of it. I'll probably have to cover it if its my last resort.

i just ignore it. because come winter if youre in a cold area and you have the stock wheels on it'll turn on either way because the sensors will read cold that they are flat or out of air. so basically dont get the sensors for new wheels and just learn to ignore it. (its possible considering im one who freaks out if i see something flashing on the instrument panel and i'm just used to it now to where it doesnt phase me)

If you ever go to sell the car, explain to the owner what it is. Simple as that. In the meantime, use the electrical tape trick as it is reversible with little effort.
