Default Gram Lights 57pro... what should I do

I have been looking at these rims for a while and I was wondering what would be a good price for them??? Here are some pics of them...
here is a pic of the light gray^

here is a pic of the ones with the metal coat, the ones I want^

I know that these weigh 22 lbs for the 18's, which isn't too bad for me, and at this web site I can get them for $520 for the 18x7.5, $530 for the 18x8, and for the silver coat option it is $100 dollars... I am still thinking on whether or not to get that option, but I need to know if that deal is a good one... also what offset should I get... they are offered in a +22, +30, and +40 offset, I was thinking +30... I am open to other recommendations if you all have better deals on these wheels or others, just feel free to post! Stephen

I have read through the "show your wheels on your tC" thread and didn't see anyone with these rims... although I have seen a thread with someone having these in gold... please if you have anymore information on these rims and any others within this price range that are as light as these or lighter then let me know! Im not sure about the pricing, but I can tell you that the 18x7.5 in a +30 offset would be a good choice. The wheels will stick out further by about 21mm which will definitely give it a more flush look and you probably wont have any rubbing problems at all.

thanks for the info... so you think it would be a bad idea to get the 18x8's... wouldn't hurt to have a little more rubber on the pavement Stephen

An 8 wheel would be fine too, but youd probably want to go with a 40 or 35 offest to keep any rubbing from happening. A 7.5 wide with 30 offset will push out 21mm where an 8" wide with a 35 offset will push out by 23mm. An 8" wide with a 40 offset will puhs out by 18mm. Pick your poison..I personally will be getting 17x8 in a +35.

You can see wheel offset comparisons by visiting this link: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

This on is pretty good too: http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp?postId=906

that price sounds reasonable, where are you thinking of getting them from?

its tough to get a good price when shipping is factored in, but you can avoid sales tax if purchased out of state.
Here are some sites I think have pretty decent prices.
www.hopupracing.com
www.visionautosport.com (you can haggle/price match. Nat the owner is cool).
www.vividracing.com
www.group5motorsport.com
www.wheelwarehouse.com

18x8, et30 will fit perfectly in the front.
you can fit a 18x8, et22 in the rear if you roll the fenders/qtr panels.
you'll have to run 225 tires front and back.

I run:
18x8.5, et30 in the fronts (33mm out than stock)
18x9, et24 in the rears (45mm out than stock)
225/40 tires all around (stretched)

TireRack's prices.
17x7-$319
18x7.5-$359

Is that $520 for the set? If yeah then it sounds like a good price to me (130/rim).

you are all right, tire rack is the best price that I have found so far... Hop up racing sent me an email saying it was $1659 or something right around there for all 4 shipped... a little much for me so my options are still open! I am looking for right around $1000 max for the wheels... any ideas people?

what do you all think of these??? They are 18x7.5 with a +35 offset and they are $676 at wheel max for all four.

How about these... 18x7.5 & +35 offset, $556 for set...

These... Enkei RP02... 18x7.5 & +48 offset, $716 for set...

these... Motegi DP6... 18x7.5 $458

also, if any of you have information on how much each of these weigh then that would be great, I really would like to know because I don't want a superheavy rim but not too picky on it being the lightest either... let me know what you all think!

all those rims posted above are cheap...some people like to have name brands....

it feels better driving on an expensive wheel..
then a no name 135 dollar rim.

didnt wanna offend anyone...but you pay for what ya get!

I agree and that is why I was asking what everyone thought of them... the Enkei's probably have the most value out of all of them... I never said I wanted to buy these, I was just showing some affordable wheels... if I wanted something like the first one, I would go BBS, etc. etc. I am going to save up for decent wheels, I did say around $1000 I am willing to spend, even more once I make some money this summer... If I make enough, I might go with the gram lights and buy them from tirerack... who knows!

Stephen

Oh and sometimes it's not always the name brand that has quality and besides, those companies didn't start out on top, they had to work their way up... maybe some of these do have good build quality, who knows
